Margaret is an assistant in our Emergency department. Her passion for animals began at a young age – she grew up on her family’s alpaca farm and also tended her neighbor’s horses. She also has experience fostering medical needs kittens.
When the time came to choose a career path, Margaret knew she wanted to continue working with animals. She is currently enrolled at Penn State University where she is pursuing a biology degree. Margaret plans on obtaining a veterinary technician license before attending veterinary school. Working at VREC, she says, is the perfect environment to not only help animals but to expand her knowledge.
When not caring for animals at the hospital, Margaret enjoys time with cats Ritz and Rugrat and dog Tike, who is in training to become a service dog. She also enjoys fostering animals, hiking, hunting, fishing, and horseback riding.
