Alicia has always had an interest in veterinary medicine since she was a young child. She began her career helping animals at a boarding facility. She then worked with a local veterinarian in general practice for several years. During that time she attended Johnson College, where she obtained her Associates degree in Science-Veterinary Technology in 2008 and became a Certified Veterinary Technician after passing the national board exam in June of that same year.
Alicia continued working in general practice after achieving her certification, and she consistently found that the most challenging cases afforded her the greatest sense of both personal and professional satisfaction. She joined the VREC team in January of 2012 as an emergency technician and became a member of the Critical Care department in January 2014. She is currently pursuing a specialty certification in Emergency/Critical Care.
When Alicia is not helping pets at VREC, she spends time at home with her four kittens, a bunny and some fish. She enjoys outdoor activities and music of all kinds.
