Amanda was born in Scranton and brought up in Peckville, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of the Johnson College Veterinary Science Program – 2005. She decided to pursue Veterinary Medicine and work as a technician because she loves animals, but chose to work in Emergency Medicine because it especially provides an opportunity to help patients and their “parents” when they need it most. “The fact that no two days are ever the same in Emergency Medicine – very few occupations can offer that excitement or satisfaction.”
Amanda has two dogs – Brooks and Shadow, two cats – Willie and Wonka. Both of Amanda’s dogs were rescued and have medical issues and orthopaedic problems. Due to their orthopaedic issues, Amanda has also become very interested in Physical Rehabilitation and hopes to pursue such training in the future. Amanda is in the process of obtaining her Certified Veterinary Technician license and hopes to become specialty certified in Emergency and Critical Care.
She spends her personal time with her two daughters and loves reading.
