Megan was born and raised in Jenkins Township, Pennsylvania and now lives in South Abington Township.
She obtained an Associates Degree in Applied Science – Veterinary Technology – from Johnson College in May 2008. Megan then completed a 5-week internship at Cornell University’s Hospital for Animals where she focused on Emergency, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Surgery and Physical Rehabilitation. After passing the National Examination, Megan became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in June 2008.
Megan’s choice of Veterinary Medicine is due to her love of animals. “I enjoy the fast-paced environment of an emergency and referral hospital. I love to learn, and working in this environment allows me to focus on a lot of continuing education.” Her favorite areas of Veterinary Medicine are Surgery and Anesthesia. She is currently working on becoming Specialty Certified in Small Animal Anesthesia.
Megan lives with her husband, Keith, 3 Border Collies, Ace, Brea and Roy, and a cat, Bug, who is in the hospital donor program. When not working, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and connecting with family and friends. She actively completes in agility and herding trials with her Border Collies.
Megan is a member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians (NAVTA) and Johnson College’s PAC Committee. She is PennHip Certified and attends the American College of Veterinary Surgery conferences annually.
