Kitten Stormy was seen at VREC after taking a tumble in her home. Her owner was concerned she had sustained an injury in her back leg. Our emergency department took radiographs which revealed she sustained a fracture at the base of her femur. A cat’s femur is located between a cat’s hip and knee and its integrity is essential for proper gait.
Once Stormy was qualified for the Angel Fund, she was hospitalized and prepped for surgery. The surgery team was able to repair the femur so Stormy both heals and grows properly in the future. We are happy to report that she should make a full recovery.
