It has taken weeks to be able to express our gratitude to all of you. In the early hours of September 20th, 2019, we, Ray and I, flew to VREC with our girl Molly – our 13-year-old, 3-time cancer survivor, love bug, workout partner, road tripper, belly rub lover husky – with acute symptoms of idiopathic vestibular disease. The angel of a veterinarian gave us the worst news (God bless you; your job is so hard) that our girl would not recover and we quickly agreed to let her go. You were with us in the worst minutes of our lives… We appreciated every single day with our Molly and your kindness and empathy did not go unnoticed in our grief during her last minutes with us. The urn is beautiful and you have no idea how overjoyed we were to get her paw print… So, thank you for the care over the last couple years, but especially on Sept 20th. I love to run and jump and play with my dad. Mom got me new toys to play with! Her eyes finally stopped leaking, sheesh! I don’t like it when her eyes leak. She keeps kissing me, I told her I’m too old for that! Mom also said to tell you how nice you were to her and she really appreciates that.
Now if you will excuse me, mom is going to let me go sit outside and watch for chipmunks. I haven’t really wanted to sit outside because my belly hurt but I’m all ready for those chipmunks now.

Sanorka’s Moonbeam Cather (aka His Royal Whiteness) passed over the Rainbow Bridge to be with Snow and Bear. Bear, Snow’s brother, had passed when Meeko was born and sent messages that I should bring Meeko into our pack. Snow helped raise him. Meeko went through a very long adolescent phase. Part of the time, he had a Taz personality, bonkers, hyper and spun in circles. The rest of the time, he was sweet, loving, and good. He adored Snow and missed him after he passed. Meeko grew into a very loving dog and remembered things he learned from Snow.
Snow helped with Meeko’s pet therapy training. Meeko demonstrated he would make a good therapy dog, developed a following, and needed more experience before becoming certified. Resident’s loved the big puppy’s visits. Meeko had a lot more love to give.

In a blink of an eye, they have grown, and one day they are gone leaving behind love, happy memories, and an emptiness in your heart. It is said of the Samoyed that the smiling dog carried in his face the spirit of Christmas the whole year through. Snow’s gift was he also carried it in his heart. Meeko’s gift was he loved you and wanted you to love him back and enjoy the moment.
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

We wanted to take this time to thank all of you for everything you have done for Marvin; from the first time he came in with the bladder issue right up until his last visit this past weekend. From Dr. Yates, Dr. Danova, Jen and each and every one of you that worked with and spent time with Marvin, we apologize that we do not recall all your names; but as life goes and we give every effort to do all we could for our beloved pets that day must come. On 03/01/2016 Marvin passed away peacefully, he spent his last day with a little more energy than he has had, he enjoyed pizza for lunch, took a ride in the truck, and went to work where he spent his afternoon visiting with all the employees; at the end of the day he got back in the truck and laid down and slipped away quietly. Although, it is very hard to accept at this time and as always we wish for more time we know that if it wasn’t for all of you we would have lost Marvin a long time ago, so thank you all for giving us all the extra time we had with him, it is of great comfort to know that in a time of a pet emergency that there is a group of wonderful people out there waiting and willing to help and go out of their way to give the most exceptional care to our pets.

“Dr. Danova,
Thank you so much for taking Preston under your wing. The amount of sedation Preston was prescribed was too much for him to get him to fully support himself the way you explained you wanted him to do. He could barely get up on his front legs and I had to support his back end with the harness. So, on day 2 of sedative use, I reduced him to 1 pill twice a day, he slept fine overnight before. This has been the perfect dose for him. He fully supports himself, is wanting to walk more and more just as you said he would and he’s learning to not jump (I sometimes have to touch down on his shoulders, but, he’s learning well) and learning other commands/positive behaviors. Today has been our best walks yet. I can now tie his leash through my belt loop, and he’s learning when I say “stop,” he needs to stop and sit. (He is doing this well when we are by ourselves, but, it needs a lot more work when others are around. But, we’ll press on). Thank you so much for everything you and your staff have done to help my “not so little” baby boy, as I embark on this new healthier, fun to learn and grow together journey. Your generosity, care, and compassion have touched us deeply.
