11 month old Anakin transferred to VREC from his primary care vet after he began vomiting ribbon. Our Internal Medicine team performed an ultrasound which confirmed a linear foreign body. Abdominal exploratory surgery was recommended.
Once qualified for the Angel Fund, Anakin transferred to the surgery department. He had surgery to remove foreign body, which turned out to be a 21″(!!!) piece of ribbon. This was removed in one piece from both the stomach and intestines. Anakin was an excellent patient and recovered uneventfully before returning home to recover.
