Orange lady Levi presented to VREC after her owners noticed a section of tail had become degloved. Degloving occurs when layers of skin rip from he underlying muscle, tissue or bone. Otherwise a happy, healthy cat, tail amputation surgery was an ideal solution.
Once qualified for the Angel Fund, Levi was transferred from the emergency service to surgery. Once anesthetized, the surgery team performed the amputation surgery. Levi recovered uneventfully in-hospital before returning home to rest and heal.
