Senior pup Paula presented to VREC after a groomer spotted a mass on her tail. Over the past year, her parents monitored the mass for changes. When it began growing larger, they brought Paula to her primary care veterinarian for evaluation. Paula’s parents also consulted a second veterinarian. Both suggested a surgical consultation at VREC.
After consulting with our Surgery team, it was determined Paula needed surgery to remove the growing mass. Once qualified for the Angel Fund, Paula was anesthetized and prepped for surgery. The surgery team removed a 15cm x 11cm mass from the base of her tail. Converted to inches that’s nearly 6″ x 4″, a sizable mass for a 17 lb dog.
Paula recovered well in hospital and went home to a VERY happy family. During her time at VREC she was an excellent patient!
