Piper, Peanut, and Cupcake were rushed to VREC for signs of smoke inhalation after being trapped in a house fire. Our clinician recommended oxygen therapy and in-house monitoring for several days. Aside from smoke inhalation, we’re happy to report none suffered any other injuries.
Once qualified for the Angel Fund, the cats were placed in the oxygen chamber and received oxygen to help their breathing. They also received IVs for fluid replenishment. Over the next few days, all were slowly weaned down to a regular oxygen level. A second exam revealed improvement from all, meaning they were ready to go home to a very happy family!
