Clarks Summit, PA – Each October, the nation celebrates Veterinary Technician Week to thank vet techs for the amazing work they do to provide pets the care they need to thrive. This week is not taken lightly at VREC. From personalized gifts to trophies, the hospital strives to ensure all technicians are awarded and thanked for their contributions to the facility. During our staff meeting – which happened to fall during Vet Tech Week – we recognized two very special vet techs for their exceptional work at VREC.
The Outstanding Tech award, as voted by our staff, is an individual who displays compassion to both patients and clients, shows enthusiasm towards VREC, and is a tremendous team player. This year we awarded this honor to Valerie G., CVT (emergency department.)
The Exemplary Tech award, as voted on by our department heads, is an individual who shows outstanding professionalism, responsible demeanor, and exemplary interpersonal and professional skills. This year we awarded this honor to Nichole B., CVT (surgery department.)
Both technicians received a personalized plaque to be hung in the building, a glass trophy, and a $500 travel voucher for a job well done. In addition, techs and assistants received personalized gifts.
