Pitbull mix Zeus was recently evaluated by the Emergency team for lethargy, inappetence, and vomiting. Our Internal Medicine team stepped in and performed an abdominal ultrasound which concluded with the recommendation of an exploratory surgery to investigate a foreign object in the stomach/small intestines.
Once Zeus qualified for the Angel Fund, our Surgery team took over. Once anesthetized, our surgeon removed sharp, hard plastic and stuffing-like material from his stomach and intestines. He recovered uneventfully from the scary ordeal before being sent home to a relieved family.
