Megan was born and raised in Pennsylvania and now lives in South Abington Township. She obtained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science – Veterinary Technology – from Johnson College in May 2008. Megan then completed a 5-week internship at Cornell University’s Hospital for Animals, where she focused on Emergency, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Surgery and Physical Rehabilitation and became a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in June 2008.
Megan’s choice of veterinary medicine is due to her love of animals. “I enjoy the fast-paced environment of an emergency and referral hospital. I love to learn, and working in this setting allows me to use my skills to their full potential.” While her favorite areas of Veterinary Medicine are surgery and anesthesia – she did work as an emergency technician early in her career. Megan has been a surgical technician since 2008 and she is currently working on becoming a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner.
Megan lives with her husband, Keith, 3 Border Collies; Ace, Brea and Roy, and their cat, Bug. In her spare time, Megan loves spending time with her husband and connecting with family and friends. Her other hobbies include cooking, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and she also enjoys competing in agility and herding trials with her Border Collies.
Megan is a member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Association, the National Association of Veterinary Technicians (NAVTA) and Johnson College’s PAC Committee. She is Penn Hip Certified and attends the American College of Veterinary Surgery conferences.
