VREC recently announced the addition of Daphne C. Clendaniel VMD, MS to the surgical staff. Dr. Clendaniel holds a Veterinarie Medicinae Doctoris from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a Master of Science in Animal Science: Avian Microbiology from the University of Delaware.
Upon graduation Dr. Clendaniel performed a three-year surgical residency at Veterinary Referral Center in Malvern, PA where her concentration was soft tissue surgeries. She then went on to be a soft tissue surgeon at Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Services, also in Malvern, and Valley Central Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Whitehall, PA. In 2019 she founded Healing Touch Veterinary Surgical Services with a focus on soft tissue surgery.
At VREC, Dr. Clendaniel will be concentrating on soft tissue and neurologic surgeries, but is experienced in cardiothoracic, abdominal, urogenital, and surgical oncology. She also has a professional interest in wound care.
Dr. Clendaniel is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, and the Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery. She is also a published author, having written several peer-reviewed articles on topics ranging from canine gallbladder carcinoma to utilizing honey for wound management. She looks forward to be upholding VREC’s high standards of care and compassion.
