Alicia has had an interest in veterinary medicine since she was a young child. She began her career helping animals at a boarding facility and then worked with a local veterinarian in day practice for several years. During that time, she attended Johnson College, where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Science-Veterinary Technology and in 2008, she passed her board exams to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). Alicia continued working in day practice after achieving her certification and has found that the most challenging cases afforded her the greatest sense of both personal and professional satisfaction. She joined the VREC team in March of 2012 as an emergency technician and is currently interested in pursuing specialty certification as an Emergency and Critical Care technician.
When Alicia is not helping pets at VREC, she spends time at home with her husband, four cats, and her fish.
