Brenda Rivera, DVM obtained a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in Alabama in 2017. She also holds a Bacholor’s in Veterinary Technology from the University of Puerto Rico in 2010. After graduation Dr. Rivera completed a small animal rotating internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in Michigan. Dr. Rivera has a professional interest in neurological cases and recently completed a neurology internship at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.
Dr. Rivera joined the VREC Emergency department in 2020. A natural problem solver, she looks forward to navigating the unpredictable world of emergency medicine and advocate for patient well-being.
Rivera shares her home with cat (and biggest fan) Snow White, who has been around her entire veterinary career. In her free time, she enjoys singing, travel, and time with friends and family. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Rivera is bilingual in English and Spanish.
