
Brenda Rivera, DVM holds a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in Alabama. She also has Bachelor’s in Veterinary Technology from the University of Puerto Rico. Post graduation, Dr. Rivera completed a small animal rotating internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in Michigan.
A natural problem solver, Rivera thrives in the unpredictable world of emergency medicine. She joined the VREC Emergency department in 2020 and enjoys advocating for patient well-being. Her professional interest lies in neurology, and she recently completed a neurology internship at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.
Rivera is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA.) When not caring for patients at the hospital, she spends time with cat and “biggest fan” Snow White, who has been part of her entire veterinary career. Free time is spent singing, traveling, and enjoying the company of friends and family. A native Puerto Rican, she is bilingual in English and Spanish.
